At the turn of the century, Regina and other companies made beautiful disc style music boxes by the thousands. But sadly, with growing competition from Thomas Edisons phonograph, however, none of them survived the Depression years. Nowadays, if you are fortunate enough to find an old antique disk music box for sale and it is still in good playing condition, expect to pay very dearly to acquire it.
Dwight Porter has spent many years reproducing the large copper song discs and now has over 900 titles available in the larger 15-1/2" size and 300 plus in the smaller 12-1/4" and 11" formats (with more being produced every day). In addition to playing beautifully on the Porter music boxes, these discs also work well on the Regina and Polyphon boxes.
